Base Eddie? Swnoden?

Both sides narrative:

I am guessing to him the both sides are just as bad however considering his situation  you have to realize he is fairly biased towards not liking the US government in general

If anyone has a reason to still be mad about Hillary it's Edward Snowden.

So take that fact in mind and realize you should not be listening to a thing Snowden says about the US election or government honestly now since he seems to be fully spite driven nowadays

Edward Snowden's a smart guy (outside of politics at least), he should be able to realize that one side can be bad while still being better than the other side.

Snowden is mad at the system, honestly his anger is more valid than a lot of the "viva la revolution" larpers in the US. He actually did things, physically took a risk, stood on his principles, stuff didn't pan out how he thought it should've and he's understandably angry and he is acting on that anger. It's why I said what can be done within in reason about the issue, rather than lament and argue uselessly about it.

Even if Snowden still wants to be a reasonable man, I'm going to guess he won't agree to look favourably on the US and it's government unless he is granted full amnesty and could maybe even want other stuff on account of how long he has been in exile. What do you think should be done?

And yes, there is some justifiable anger towards the U.S. gov on his end. I don’t agree with what the NSA was doing either. What I’m saying is him being mad at the system doesn’t justify equating Dems and Republicans during now of all times, where Republicans have slid so far to the right and have tried to undermine our electoral process.

If people think what Snowden is doing is okay, then no we don't agree. What he's doing is wrong. At best he's being stupid, blinded by spite. At worst he's attempting to make things worse intentionally. I don't care if Snowden has a justifiable reason to hate the U.S. government, what he's doing is wrong and bad.

What the US government also did to him was wrong and bad. I am guessing entire swaths of the world wish literal death upon the US, and they have every right to. You seem to think there is a moral objective good that aligns for the entire world in geopolitics and politics in general when there is not. Remember when Hasan caught all that flack for saying "America deserved 9/11." US government policies whether foreign or domestic have been the cause of most of the US's greatest adversaries since World War 2. This is another example of that.

Yeah what Snowden is doing is not good but I understand the anger behind it and that he wants to burn the institution that betrayed him to the ground, and spite the US citizens who didn't even do anything to demand amnesty for him for being a whistle blower.

Like honestly man what have you done in your life that compares to what Snowden has done in terms of standing on your principles, sacrifice and taking a risk? I can't even imagine what he is going through and here you are being so sanctimonious, and uselessly too. What Snowden is doing is okay and good for him probably, it's not okay and good for the US but the reason it's him vs the US is the US government not abiding by its own whistle blower protection policy. Politics and geopolitics is complicated stuff, ground your beliefs in something concrete and realize other people's goals are not always going to align with you. The best case scenario will be peaceful compromise the worst case scenario will be bloodshed. This is literally the human condition mate.
